………The boarding party went aboard and held the Captain and deck officers at gunpoint, ordering them to bring all hands on deck. They were then told to abandon ship and step aboard the U-boat now moored aside. The British seaman arriving on deck were staggered at the sheer size of the unknown ship. They wondered, in hope, if it was Russian ‒ as the Russians were still Allies, of sorts. Without any hesitation, they chose to abandon ship and make for the German submarine. The last man off was the Captain, and all were taken below as captives. Then the German boarding party disappeared down into the lower decks………
