Michael had two wounds. One was from a bullet which had gone clean through his shoulder and had caused some bleeding. Hess ripped off his shirt and tore it into strips and bound the wound tight to stem the flow of blood. This shoulder wound was not life-threatening and could be dealt with at the right time. The second and more serious wound was to his head. It appeared that a bullet had struck his jaw and lodged in his skull. There was very little bleeding, so this aspect could be coped with. However, the bullet in his skull could very well have a long-term consequence in the form of permanent damage to his brain………
